Organized around the weekend of Sharodiya Durga Puja, it is customarily held from Fri evening to Sunday evening. Location: Helsinki capital region.

Supposed to be a religious festival, celebrating the divine powerful mother goddess, and the triumph of the good over the evil, this is one of the biggest annual social events of Bengalis in Finland. This is a time to meet friends and new people, and socialize. Although held around the Helsinki capital region, there are guests from all over Finland, and abroad.

While the festival is a piece of nostalgia for most who miss their days of celebration back in Bengal, it is also very important for the youngest generation, to get a chance to have a glimpse of warm Bengali hospitality, engage in cultural activities and show off their skills, savor the sweet Bengali language, food and take home so many other memories, even if they are staying far away from Bengal.
